Always keep 4–8 Griffins for healing and EMP; use 6 or more for non-Strider builds. Prioritize them to keep your forces alive.
All Strider builds can function without Striders on lower difficulties.
Strider - Bastion - Commando - Griffin
One Strider of Bastions, then one Strider of Commandos, then another Strider of Bastions. Consider adding a fourth Strider of Commandos later.
Melts enemies like butter.
Less effective on maps that require high mobility, such as Siege and Iron Shield.
Excellent on: Sustain maps such as Fabricators and Tug of War, or maps requiring durable units.
Titan - Commando - Griffin
Easy to produce, but more APM-intensive to keep alive.
Commandos provide additional DPS and a resource dump.
Excellent on: Blockade and Extraction.
Strider - Bastion - Ironwing - Griffin
Prioritize one Strider of Bastions, switch to filling with air, then add a second Strider of Bastions later.
Also melts enemies, but is slightly more expensive to establish.
Has fewer mobility issues, although you still need to work around the Striders.
Predator - Griffin - Ironwing
Keep Predators on a separate control group for micro.
Ironwings are optional for better anti-air DPS.
Predators can solo the early game.
Avoid this composition against numerous enemy air units, such as on Under Fire, or against Grell enemy forces.
Less effective during sustained combat.
Excellent on: Scavenging and Critical Delivery.
Sol Invictus - Ironwing - Griffin
Niche build that relies on Sol Invictus to tank and deal nuke damage.
Adding more Barracks units helps deploy Sol Invictus more often.
Strider - Bastion - Sentinel - Griffin
Niche build with very high burst damage.
Trades the Commando version's flexibility for more Heavy damage or stronger anti-air.
Useful on: Siege and Critical Delivery, although Commandos can perform better.
Juggernaut - Strider - Commando (Shredding Rounds) - Griffin
Four Juggernauts and two Striders.
Highly effective on: Siege.
Strider (Railgun) - Commando (Shredding Rounds) - Griffin (optional)
Works best from level 12 onward.
Melts enemies and is especially effective against bosses.
Slightly less effective against swarms.
Rush one Strider and the Railgun; use Commando Reinforcements at every opportunity.
Work toward four or more Striders, then fill the remaining supply with more Commandos.
Garrisoning the Striders is not always necessary. When playing aggressively, leaving the Commandos outside may improve ramp-up and combat speed if you can micro them effectively.
Griffins are optional, but keeping some air units is highly recommended for engaging opponents uphill.
Excellent on: Iron Shield and Siege.
